WILKES-BARRE - Holiday cheer quite literally made its way through the streets of Wilkes-Barre on Saturday for the city’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.įolks lined South Main and South Streets to partake in the parade festivities, which featured plenty of floats, performances and even an appearance from Santa Claus.įollowing the hour-long parade, crowds quickly formed in front of Public Square’s 24-foot Christmas tree, donated by Building Blocks Learning Center, for the ceremonial tree lighting. The Christmas Tree on Wilkes-Barre Public Square was officially lit on Saturday, marking the beginning of the holiday season.
